The One-Take Super 8 Event is so many things I love: retro technology, creativity, and a bunch of friends getting together to have a good time. The first event started in Saskatchewan in 2000 and has spread to more than a dozen cities. It has been hosted here in Syracuse for the last few years by my good friends Jason and Bre of Craft Chemistry (along with the folks over at Funk ‘N Waffles).
The rules are simple, “filmmakers each shooting a single reel of Super 8 film, which then premiered to an audience without the filmmakers seeing their work beforehand. All the films were shown as shot. No cuts. No splices.”
Here is my “Godzirra vs. Syracuse” entry from last year. I am currently pulling the pieces together for this year’s entry. . . sorry, top secret, you’ll have to come the show on April 16 in Syracuse to see how it turns out.
just for fun
